Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cavid Cabbarzade was admitted to the General Medicine Faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University in 2002. In 2008–2009 he completed his internship in otorhinolaryngology at Sumgayit City Hospital No. 3. In 2009, at the TUS (Medical Specialty Examination) held in the Republic of Turkey, he achieved the 2nd best result among foreign citizens and was admitted to the residency program in otorhinolaryngology and head & neck surgery at Hacettepe University. In 2014 he completed his residency and became a specialist in otorhinolaryngology and head & neck surgery.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cabbarzade has published articles in numerous scientific journals in the USA and Europe. These articles mainly present new techniques, algorithms and surgical instruments in the field of aesthetic nasal surgery. Two surgical instruments he developed for use in rhinoplasty (Cabbarzade Crusher and Cabbarzade Blade) have been confirmed by patent. To present these innovations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cabbarzade is invited every year to different countries around the world to give lectures on rhinoplasty. The USA, England, Germany, Norway, Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Iran and Portugal are among the countries where he has represented Azerbaijan by lecturing on rhinoplasty.

In 2018, in London, he was certified by the International Academies of Facial Plastic Surgery and earned the “European Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon” certificate. At the same time, he received “Diplomate” status in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 2022, after a two-stage examination held in Vienna, he earned the “European Board Certified Otorhinolaryngologist” certificate. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cabbarzade is currently the only surgeon in our country certified in Europe in both otorhinolaryngology and facial plastic surgery.

In 2018, at the Fairmont Hotel Flame Towers, he organized “Baku Rhinoplasty Days” — the first international rhinoplasty conference in the history of Azerbaijani healthcare, with the participation of surgeons from 14 different countries.

He taught otorhinolaryngology to medical students at the Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital of Yeni Yüzyıl University in Turkey. In 2023, Dr. Cabbarzade's scientific work was assessed by the Interuniversity Council of the Republic of Turkey, and he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (Docent) in otorhinolaryngology.

He is the co-founder and chairman of the Azerbaijan Rhinoplasty Surgeons Public Union.
